A two-step crackle, Crackle Varnish dries clear, making it ideal for creating a cracked porcelain or aged, crackled-effect over painted, decorative designs especially effective with rice paper designs. Shake both bottles before use. Apply Step 1. When it is totally transparent, it is time for Step 2. Always use a dry brush. Leave for to dry naturally, and watch as the cracks begin to appear. It is great for acrylic and picture crackling techniques. It is recommended to use the dry brush horizontally for evenly distribution. Apply two coats of basecoat (Step 1) evenly to surface and allow to dry apply one coat of Step 2 evenly. Fine cracks will appear on drying. Enchance the cracks by rubbing in artists oil paint. Wipe off excess oil, allow to dry for 24 hrs seal with solvent based varnish.The product itself is transparent and better for bigger crackles. Non toxic.
